4th of July!

Our girls were so excited to celebrate the 4th.
Even though I don't think they had any idea why we celebrate it...I'll work on that some more!

We went to a BBQ after nap time. Below is Lacie swinging with her cousin Hayden.
 And enjoying her ice cream
And she decided to eat her hot dog while driving (backwards) around Amanda's yard.
Then it was off the the riverfront park in Independence (a great city to be in on the 4th)
We walked around all the booths, got some cotton candy and snow cones, and then Addison spotted the rides!
Dad thought it was pretty funny getting a picture of mom trying to climb in the thing. It was high off the ground and when you have a baby bump in the way lifting your legs that high is hard (still it was kind of funny).
I was nervous that Addison wouldn't like it...but she LOVED it
She'll be my ride buddy because daddy can't handle some rides!

And then while mom sat in the shade to cool off a bit dad pushed the girls on swings at the playground.
Then after a greasy dinner of corn dogs and tacos, elephant ears and kettle corn (don't worry we paid for all of that the next day) it was time for the firework show!

Addison doesn't like loud noises but she loved the lights. So she plugged her ears and watched the show....upside down for some of it!

Lacie loved the fireworks.
It was a great Fourth and by the end of the night the girls were SO tired. Lacie fell asleep in the stroller walking back to our car and Addison was asleep before we left our parking spot!
I love our country and I'm so glad that we were able to celebrate our freedoms as a family!
